Dr. Hailin Qu is the Regents Professor and William E. Davis Distinguished Chair as well as the Director of the Center for Hospitality and Tourism Research in the School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA. He has also been honored as a Distinguished Visiting Chair Professor or Distinguished Honorary Professor by several major universities worldwide.
Dr. Qu received his Ph.D. degree from Purdue University in 1992. He has been teaching and researching in tourism and hospitality management for more than 30 years. His research interests are hospitality and tourism service quality and consumer behavior and loyalty. From 1992 to 2014 he has published 99 refereed journal articles, an average of 4.4 articles per year. In a recent study published by the top tier journal, Tourism Management, Dr. Qu has been ranked the world’s 15th leading researcher in publishing at three top tier hospitality and tourism journals. He has also published/presented over 220 refereed conference papers at national and international conferences. In addition, he has published eight book chapters and has been invited to give keynote speeches and/or presentations at 65 national and international conferences/meetings/seminars. Dr. Qu has received 48 research grants and/or contracts with a total amount of over $5 million in US dollars. Dr. Qu is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Quality Assurance in Hospitality and Tourism and has also served on eight international refereed journals’ editorial boards.
