Edralin Lucas is the holder of the College of Education and Human Sciences’ Jim and Lynn Williams Professorship. She is originally from the Philippines and came to the US to do her graduate work. She received her PhD in Analytical Chemistry at OSU in 1995 and became a faculty in the Nutritional Sciences in 2005. Her research interest is identifying and understanding how bioactive food components prevent or reduce risk factors for heart disease. Edralin has published numerous peer-reviewed research articles and received more than six million dollars of research funding as principal investigator and co-investigator. She is the recipient of the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence in Teaching at a Research University Award (2020-2021), OSU Regents Distinguished Research Award (2012), OSU Regents Distinguished Teaching Award (2014 and 2019), and the OSU Outstanding Undergraduate Adviser Award (2019).
