Eminent Faculty Award
A deadline of Friday, March 13, 2026, has been set for submission of nominations for the 2026 Eminent Faculty Award. This award is given annually to OSU's most distinguished faculty member deemed by their peers to have made sustained contributions to scholarly-creative activity, instruction and service, bringing honor and recognition to the university.
Althrough excellence in three areas is stressed, faculty who have made outstanding and sustained contributions in scholarly-createive activity and in either teaching or service will be strongly considered.
Faculty must be currently active, tenured and continuously employed by the university for at least five full academic years. The award willl be given only once to an individual.
A brief letter of nomination and current CV should be submitted to the Office of Academic affairs (provost@okstate.edu) by Friday, March 13, 2026, by anyone familiar with a candidate. Scholars meeting the following criteria will be notified of their nomination on or soon after Monday, March 23, and will have until Friday, May 30, to provide support materials.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A minimum of five (5) years of service at OSU and currently in a tenured position
- Outstanding accomplishments in scholarly-creative activity, with excellence in one area and strong performance in the other two
- Must have received terminal degree at least 10 years previously
- Prior award winners are not eligible.
A distinguished faculty review committee with select up to three finalists. The award includes a $10,000 stipend and a crystal obelisk, presented at the 2026 University Awards Convocation on Monday, Dec. 7.
