Jiahong Wu is currently Regents Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Oklahoma State University. He received his B.S. degree (1988) in Computational Mathematics from Peking University China), his M.S. degree (1993) and his Ph.D. degree (1996) in Applied Mathematics from University of Chicago. His research focuses on the theory and applications of several nonlinear partial differential equations, which are fundamental in understanding many fluid phenomena from small-scale blood flows to large-scale geophysical flows. He has authored more than 80 journal articles and co-authored a monograph, and his work has been cited more than 1400 times. He has earned numerous awards including the Centennial Fellowship from the American Mathematical Society, the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award from Oak Ridge Associated Universities and the OSU Regents Distinguished Research Award.
