Sunderesh Heragu

Sunderesh S. Heragu is the Head and Donald and Cathey Humphreys Chair of the School of Industrial Engineering and Management at Oklahoma State University. Previously he was the Mary Lee and George F. Duthie Chair in Engineering Logistics at the University of Louisville, where he was also Director of the Logistics and Distribution Institute. He was also Professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has taught at the State University of New York, and held visiting appointments at State University of New York, Buffalo, Technical University of Eindhoven and University of Twente, in the Netherlands and IBM's Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY.

Dr. Heragu has developed deterministic as well as stochastic models for important design and operational problems arising in manufacturing, logistics, materials handling, warehousing and healthcare systems. He has authored over 250 articles and a book titled Facilities Design (currently in its fourth edition).

Dr. Heragu has received the David F Baker Distinguished Research Award from the Institute of Industrial Engineers. He is also a Fellow of IIE, has won the IIE Award for Technical Innovation, the IIE Transactions on Design and Manufacturing Award and IIE Transactions Award for Best Paper published in "Feature Applications", the Gold Award of Excellence for leadership in Facilities Planning and Design, and the New York State and United University Professions New Faculty Development Award.
