Anthony W. Confer, DVM, MS, PhD, Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists, Sitlington Endowed Chair for Food Animal Research. Dr. Confer teaches veterinary pathology to professional and graduate students as well as veterinary pathology residents. Major research interest, expertise and international recognition are in immunity against Pasteurella multocidaand Mannheimia haemolytica in cattle pneumonia. 2003 recipient of the OSU Eminent Faculty Award; 1987 & 2002 Norden Distinguished Teacher Award; 1985 & 2011 Pfizer Award for Research Excellence; 2008 Regents Distinguished Teaching Award; 2009 OSU College of Veterinary Medicine Distinguished Alumnus.
