General Education Task Force

Purpose - The aim of the General Education Task Force is to consider how general education at Oklahoma State University can be improved in the face of shifting educational landscapes: changing students, changing faculty, diverse societal expectations, and evolving structures of higher education. The task force is also exploring how general education serves to advance OSU’s land-grant mission and what a signature for general education at Oklahoma State University might look like. The members of the task force have been organized into three working groups. These groups are focusing on (1) the desired goals of general education, (2) the strategies we use to deliver our general education (how we teach and learn) and assessment of general education, and (3) perspectives our stakeholders hold about general education. In the end, our aim is to have a program of general education that is supported across the academy and one that prepares our students to be successful and effective in their future careers.
