Accreditation

Oklahoma State University holds institutional accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission, which is required for an institution to receive federal funding and for the students to obtain federally-backed student loans. The Action Letter is the certificate to verify this standing.

The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) is an independent corporation founded in 1895 as one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. HLC accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions.

Accredited OSU Programs

Area accreditation serves as a quality assurance process under which an external body evaluates services and operations of educational programs to determine if applicable standards are met. OSU holds more than 70 area accreditations across numerous fields of study.

Accreditation History

OSU was first accredited in 1915 and participates in the Higher Learning Commission on a recurring basis and in accordance with its guidelines and standards. Our accreditation status was approved during reviews in 1995, 2005 and 2015
